Finished Products Made From Our Own Fabric

Everything else on this site is material. This page is where that material becomes something you can take out of a box and put to work. Fire blankets, welding blankets, removable insulation covers and welding safe houses, all cut and sewn in our own workshops.

The reason to buy finished rather than converting yourself is usually straightforward. High temperature fabric is difficult to sew properly, requires a matching high temperature thread, and a seam done badly becomes the failure point of the whole product regardless of how good the fabric is. If your business is not set up for that, buying finished removes the problem entirely.

The reason to buy it from us specifically is less obvious, and it is the subject of the next section.

Most fire blanket suppliers are converters rather than manufacturers. They buy woven cloth from one company, coating from another, thread from a third, and sew the pieces together. That is a legitimate business, and many do it well.

It does mean that when something goes wrong, nobody in the chain owns the whole answer. The converter blames the cloth, the weaver blames the coating, and the customer is left holding a product that failed for reasons no single supplier will accept.

We Make Every Layer of What We Sell

A finished protective product is not one material. It is at minimum three, and each of them can be the reason it fails. We produce all of them at our own plant in Jiaxing.

    The Base Fabric

    Woven in house from high silica or glass fibre, at the weight and construction the product needs.

  • Layer Two

    The Coating

    Silicone, graphite, PTFE or vermiculite, selected against the exposure the finished item will take.

  • Layer Three

    The Thread

    High silica sewing thread rated to 900 degrees continuous, so the seam matches the fabric.

  • Layer Four

    The Conversion

    Cutting, sewing, hemming, eyelets and reinforcement, done in our own workshops.

The third layer is the one that gets neglected across this industry, and it is worth dwelling on. A welding blanket rated to 1000 degrees Celsius stitched with polyester thread is a 250 degree product, because polyester softens there and the seam opens. The fabric can be entirely undamaged while the blanket comes apart.

We produce high temperature sewing thread as a standalone product precisely because this kept happening to customers who bought excellent fabric elsewhere and converted it with ordinary thread. Everything we sew here uses it as standard.

The practical consequence for you is that one company answers for the whole product. If a seam opens, a coating fails or a fabric underperforms, there is nobody else to point at and nobody else you have to chase.

It also means specifications can be matched deliberately rather than by coincidence. When the fabric and the thread come from the same plant and the same base chemistry, they shrink at the same rate and behave the same way under heat. That consistency is difficult to guarantee across three separate suppliers.

For smothering a fire rather than containing sparks. Deployed over a burning object to cut off the oxygen supply, which is the fastest way to stop a fire that has already started.

Used in commercial kitchens, workshops, vehicles and public buildings, and produced in sizes from small kitchen units up to large vehicle blankets.

Welding Blanket

For preventing a fire rather than putting one out. Laid over or wrapped around anything that must be shielded from spark splash, molten spatter and falling slag during cutting and welding.

The most demanding duty in our finished range, because molten metal attacks the coating directly rather than merely heating the surface.

Insulation jackets for valves, flanges, turbines and pipework that has to be accessed for maintenance. They fit, they insulate, and they come off in minutes without being destroyed.

The alternative on serviceable equipment is usually rigid insulation that gets cut away at every inspection and never properly replaced, leaving hot surfaces exposed for years.

A full enclosure, also called a weld safe habitat, that isolates a hot work operation from a hazardous surrounding atmosphere so the work can proceed without shutting down the facility.

Used in petrochemical, offshore and refinery environments where flammable vapour may be present and a single spark reaching it would be catastrophic.

Which Product Do You Need

The most common confusion in this category is between fire blankets and welding blankets. They look similar and they do opposite jobs.

A fire blanket is not a welding blanket and substituting one for the other causes real problems in both directions. A fire blanket used to catch welding slag will be destroyed by repeated spatter contact and then will not be available when an actual fire happens.

A welding blanket used as emergency fire equipment may not be sized, folded or positioned for the rapid deployment that smothering a fire requires. Buy each for its own purpose and keep them stored separately.

Fabric Specification

Because we weave the cloth, an OEM programme can specify the base fabric and coating as well as the finished article. Most converters cannot offer this.

Our fabrics are produced in multiple colours rather than grey alone, which matters for distributors selling under their own label and for colour coding by rating on site.

Hardware and Finishing

Eyelets, hems, edge reinforcement, straps and carry bags specified to suit how the product is deployed and stored rather than added as an afterthought.

Packaging

Retail packaging, bulk industrial packing or private label presentation, produced to your requirement for the destination market.

Documentation

Around 70 to 80 percent of our output is exported, so export documentation, packing lists and inspection routines are routine here rather than exceptional.

If you are a distributor building a safety product line, the fabric level customisation is worth considering carefully. A product that looks and performs differently from everything else on the shelf is difficult to build when you are buying converted goods from the same three cloth mills your competitors use.

How to Order Finished Products

Five answers let us quote the right product rather than the nearest catalogue item.

  1. Are you preventing a fire or putting one out? This single question separates welding blankets from fire blankets, and it is the distinction most often confused. Preventing means welding blanket. Extinguishing means fire blanket.
  2. What is generating the heat, and is molten metal involved? Spatter and slag are far more destructive than radiant heat at the same temperature, because they arrive as physical particles carrying their own energy. Say so explicitly if they are present.
  3. What size and shape do you need? Standard sizes are quickest and cheapest. Custom dimensions and profiled shapes are produced to drawing, and for equipment covers a drawing or photograph tells us far more than a written description.
  4. How is it deployed and stored? A blanket grabbed in an emergency, a cover fitted once and left, and a curtain moved daily place completely different demands on weight, hardware and packaging.
  5. Do you need private label or standard branding? Colour, packaging and marking are all customisable, but they need to be specified at order stage because they are part of production rather than added afterwards.

If you are replacing a product that failed, tell us how it failed. Whether the seam opened, the coating burned through, the fabric tore or the hardware pulled out tells us which part of the construction was inadequate, and that is far more useful than the specification it was originally bought against.

The questions distributors, safety managers and procurement teams ask us most often.

What is the difference between a fire blanket and a welding blanket?

They do opposite jobs. A fire blanket extinguishes a fire that has already started, by covering it and cutting off the oxygen. A welding blanket prevents a fire from starting, by containing sparks and molten spatter during hot work.

Substituting one for the other causes real problems. A fire blanket used to catch welding slag gets destroyed by repeated spatter and then is not available when a fire actually happens. Buy each for its purpose and store them separately.

Why buy finished products rather than converting the fabric myself?

Because high temperature fabric is difficult to sew well. Inorganic thread has very low elongation and breaks under tension settings that suit polyester, machines need slowing down, and any worn guide in the thread path will cut the thread within a few metres.

Setting a workshop up for that takes time and trial. If your volume justifies the investment we will happily sell you the fabric and the thread. If it does not, buying finished removes the problem and usually costs less overall.

What makes your finished products different from other suppliers?

Most fire blanket suppliers are converters. They buy cloth from one company, coating from another and thread from a third, then sew the pieces together. We weave the cloth, apply the coating, produce the thread and do the conversion at our own plant.

That matters in two ways. One company answers for the whole product if something fails, and specifications can be matched deliberately rather than by coincidence. Fabric and thread from the same base chemistry shrink at the same rate and behave the same way under heat.

What thread do you use in the seams?

Our own high silica sewing thread, rated for continuous service at 900 degrees Celsius, as standard on everything we sew.

This is worth asking any supplier, because a blanket rated to 1000 degrees stitched with polyester is a 250 degree product. Can you make products to my own drawing?

Yes, and a large share of what leaves our workshops is made this way rather than to a catalogue specification. Custom sizes, profiled shapes, hardware, colour and packaging are all available.

Because we weave the cloth ourselves, an OEM programme can also specify the base fabric and coating rather than only the finished article. Most converters cannot offer that, since they are buying whatever their cloth supplier stocks.

What is a welding safe house?

Also called a weld safe habitat, it is a full enclosure that isolates a hot work operation from the surrounding atmosphere, so that welding or cutting can proceed in an area where flammable vapour may be present.

The alternative is usually shutting the facility down for the duration of the work, which in a refinery or offshore installation costs vastly more than the enclosure does. That economic comparison is why the product exists.

Why use removable insulation covers instead of permanent insulation?

Because valves, flanges and instruments have to be accessed for inspection and maintenance. Permanent insulation gets cut away to reach them and is rarely reinstated properly, so the surface stays uninsulated for years afterwards.

A removable cover comes off in minutes, gets refitted in minutes, and keeps working across many maintenance cycles. The energy saving over the life of the equipment usually pays for the covers several times over.

Do you supply private label products?

Yes. Colour, packaging, marking and presentation are all customisable for distributors and safety brands selling under their own name.

Our fabrics are produced in multiple colours rather than grey alone, which is worth considering if you are building a product line. Differentiating on the shelf is difficult when you are buying converted goods from the same cloth mills your competitors use.

How long do finished products last in service?

It depends almost entirely on exposure rather than on time. The base fabric is non-combustible by composition and does not degrade. What wears is the coating and the hardware.

A curtain hanging in a workshop lasts a very long time. A blanket taking direct molten spatter several times a day shows coating damage within months. Inspect for coating loss, burn through, seam damage and hardware wear at the points of heaviest exposure, and replace on condition rather than on a fixed schedule.

Can I get samples before placing a bulk order?

Yes. For finished goods we would rather you handled the product than took the specification on trust, because weight, drape and hardware quality are difficult to judge from a photograph.

Tell us the application when you request a sample so we send something matched to it. A sample in the wrong size or specification tells you less than you would think.

What is your minimum order quantity?

Standard sizes in standard specification carry a lower minimum. Custom sizes, custom fabric, private label packaging or non standard colours each need their own production run, which raises both the minimum and the lead time.

Tell us the specification and your rough volume and we will confirm the exact figure with your quotation rather than quoting a generic minimum that may not apply to your order.

What are your payment terms and shipping options?

Payment is normally by T/T, structured as a deposit with the balance settled before shipment. We confirm the exact split with your quotation.

EXW, FOB, CIF and DAP terms are all available, so you can pick whichever fits how your freight is already arranged. If you have a nominated forwarder we will work with them directly.

If you convert your own goods, these are the materials our finished products are built from, all available as roll goods and bulk supply.
